In Human Rights parlance, "country reports" are documents produced by governmental, intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations describing the human rights situation in a particular country. NGOs, like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch produce such country reports. The U.S. Department of State also produces country reports for Congress, which are available at its website. Such reports may be used in asylum hearings, for example.
More country reports from human rights related NGOs are listed in the ASIL International Human Rights Guide discussed under Human Rights Resources & Research Guides.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (CRC) is another important NGO in the human rights field. The ICRC has created a database of case law in the related field of international humanitarian law.
