Elder Law Resources: Health Care

Introduction

One of the most important concerns of elderly clients is ensuring that their healthcare needs are met. Issues of medical care often involve Medicare & Medicaid. Medicare is part of the Social Security system and provides health insurance for most senior citizens regardless of financial status. Medicaid is a means tested program that provides health insurance subject to income eligibility. For additional resources on nursing homes and assisted living facilities, see the Long-term Care tab of this guide.
