Federal Tax Research: Updating Your Research

Resources available at the UIC Law School for tax research.

Citators

A number of tools are available to locate the treatment or status of  tax provisions in the Code, case law, and administrative pronouncements. It is easiest to use online services such as Westlaw's KeyCite, Lexis' Shepards, RIA Checkpoint's Citator service, or CCH VitalLaw's citation search.

In print, CCH's  Standard Federal Tax Reporter looseleaf tax service  also has citator volumes which can be used to update tax research.

Accessing UIC Law Databases

Users will need to provide their assigned Westlaw or LexisNexis login and password information when selecting links to those databases.

For other databases, such as Bloomberg Law and RIA checkpoint, links should lead directly to the resources if accessed from on-campus. If used off-campus, users will need to enter their UIC NETID and password to access the databases after selecting the database link.
