Fair Housing Law: Journal Articles

Indexes and Journal Databases

Articles related to Fair Housing Law can be found in a number of law journals and law reviews. More than 1,000 articles are available on the subject of fair housing within the UIC Law Library Catalog & E-Resources.

A majority of academic law journals can be accessed electronically via HeinOnline. The best way to find out about published articles is by searching through the Index to Legal Periodicals database. It contains citations, abstracts, and often full-text articles. The index may also be accessed through LexisNexis or Westlaw.

The print version of the Current Law Index and the Index to Legal Periodicals are alternatives to online research. The indexes are compiled chronologically with volumes having subject and author indexes. These indexes are located in the 6th Floor Mezzanine.

Because fair housing often intersects with social issues, economics, and sociology, it can be beneficial to explore non-legal journals. The EBSCOhost academic search database offers a wide range of scholarly articles. Another valuable resource is the Social Science Research Network (SSRN), an online repository that features works in progress, research papers, and pre-publication articles from various journals. This platform is excellent for finding timely scholarly works, and most of the content is freely downloadable.
